TWIN CITIES,MN • JUNE 2008- Holton House Audio (www.holtonhouseaudio.com), a Minnesota audiobook company, is proud to announce the release of their new historical 4-CD audio venture, a first for Holton House, with Canoeing With The Cree, narrated by John Farrell, one of Minnesota's most acclaimed voice talents.

In 1930 future CBS journalist Sevareid and friend Walter Port took an unprecedented three-month 2200 mile journey starting here in Minnesota, at Fort Snelling and ending at Hudson Bay, Canada, by way of the Minnesota River, the Red River, and Lake Winnipeg. It's a fascinating story of canoeing in the wilderness in the days when it truly was wild. . .and this year, we are all surprised to see history repeat itself.

According to Shel Danielson, President of Holton House Audio, "We all watched in awe as two adventurous teens from Chaska, Minnnesota, decided to relive this Sevareid journey with a canoe trip of their own. We chose the story last year since we thought it was a great read and fantastic adventure tale to listen to. Never did we believe it would be repeated as we went into production.

Scott Thomsen, Executive Producer on this project added, "After we worked in the studio, hearing all the stories come to life, Shel and I felt like we'd gone on the journey ourselves. John Farrell's magnificent reading keeps you on the edge of your chair."

Shel and Scott have been following the travels of Colton Witte and Sean Bloomfield. They also had the chance to meet the parents and are now eager sponsors of the young canoeists. You can also meet the producers and the parents at a number of special appearances this month.

Canoeing With The Cree will be available on barnesandnoble.com, amazon.com, and in retail outlets in June. Holton House is working on its next release, Resort to Murder, by the Minnesota Crime Wave, authors William Kent Krueger, Ellen Hart, Carl Brookins and others. It will feature some of Minnesota's best voice talents on 13 short stories of mystery set at Minnesota resorts. Scheduled for release in July, 2008.
