Holton House, the audiobook production company, has added three unique voice artists to its talent roster. "We reached out into the community," said Producer Scott Thomsen, "and found some wonderful talent that will complement our existing group of readers. I mean, we have some of the best people in town already, but these people bring a different perspective and sound to their work."
Performance artist and poet Sandy Beach is a superb interpreter, with a wide range of styles and voices. Her reading is, no doubt, informed by her work as a writer: her awards include a poetry residency at The Ezra Pound Center for Literature in Merano, Italy; The Loft Poetry Mentorship, and two Norcroft residencies.
Vaughn Harvey was a virtual walk-on at one of the auditions, and he absolutely blew everyone away with
his rich, southern inflected voice and his ability to work authentically in dialect.
Broadcaster Alan Stone left the business "forever" in the 1990's, but returned as a news and audiobook reader for the Talking Book Network. At a Master Class, he was described as, "The reader who sounds the way the New York Times is supposed to sound." Alan's preference is poetry and fiction. Alan is also a producer and director for Holton House Audio.
