Here are a few samples of people we work with:
Our Voice Artists
SCOTT THOMSEN...With a reading style as solid as a rock, Scott is also our lead producer-director. In addition to audio books, Scott's style has been honed by years of experience in the broadcasting and commercial voice-over business. His work as a Music Director helps create the magic that makes an audio book interpretation very special.
FIACRE DOUGLAS...Known for his delightful, Irish-tinged readings of Nora Roberts and Dick Francis mysteries, this international voice artist is skilled in all narrative styles, including romance, biography, business and self-help. Authentic German, British and Standard American interpretations round out his repertoire. A former dialect coach at the Guthrie Theater, Fiacre brings a vibrant sense of presence and verve to his work.
HEIDI ZIMAN...A classically trained actress and singer with work in London and Boston, Heidi is versatile enough to jump from formal British stage work to American style improv. She creates characters that range from spicy to dramatic to comic, and she is a wonderful interpreter of children's books. Listen to her work, and smile.
MARY ANN SULLIVAN...A voice familiar to listeners of Public Radio, the versatile Mary Ann can bring life to almost any type of book, from romance to history to high-tech. Her style is polished, pleasant, expressive and beautifully balanced.
HARLAN SAPERSTEIN...A Holton House exclusive audio book reader. You've heard Harlan as the commercial voice for Lincoln, McDonald's, Ryder Truck and other national advertisers...and as the narrator for scores of programs like "Modern Marvels" on the History Channel, "E" and the Discovery Channel. Currently, Harlan is the voice for the "Pioneers of Prime Time" series on PBS. Harlan's availability is limited, and scheduling needs to be arranged in advance.
SANDY BEACH...In addition to her work as a reader, Sandy is a performance artist and poet. This may help explain her interpretive ability. We're not sure how to explain the variety of wonderful vocal characters that she creates. Sandy brings strong energy, intelligence and creativity to all of her work.
LARRY RUSSO...Writer, actor, voice artist and maestro of the longest running series of voice-acting classes in the Midwest. Larry's versatile delivery style is imaginative and always responsive to the script. He is particularly fond of science fiction. His voice is rich, warm, flexible and very, very nice.
LEISA LUIS-GRILL...Leisa reads with ease and fluency, and offers a variety of accents and character voices that reflect her successful theatrical career. But wait...there's much more...she also has the medical background needed for authoritative readings of textbooks and journals.
BILL KENZIE...Bill is a storyteller, and a specialist in creating colorful character voices. Long known as an actor and director at The Old Log Theater, Bill has worked as a speech and drama coach, and is a veteran of stage work at Drury Lane in Chicago and the Westwood Playhouse in Los Angeles. Bill's interpretive character voices bring whatever is needed to a script...humor, menace...and always, the human touch.
MARY SUE KRUGER...Simply put, with reading styles that range from aristocratic to earthy, romantic to reflective, MarySue is the kind of reader that makes us love producing and listening to audio books even more.
CODY LYMAN...Cody is another example of the superb national talent based in the Twin Cities. He is available when not on a film location or touring. He is a veteran of the Second City Conservatory, The Brave New Workshop and Act One Studios. An intense and high energy performer, Cody is a strong choice for fast moving action, adventure, business and motivational audio books.
GARY BROWN...The talented and imaginative Mr. Brown plays trombone, designs award-winning art glass and loves to read books for children.
CARIN LEONARD-GORRILL...Carin is a creative young actress with many credits for stage, film and on-camera productions. Her style is bright, fresh and versatile.
